Prince the Badger

Prince Badger
Hello, my name is Prince and I live in Durham, land of the Prince Bishops. I have travelled to many different places and have enjoyed them all. I thought you might like to see where I have been and some of the friends I've made. Enjoy!

The Eden Project

Badger at the Eden Project
A fabulous day! Dominic from Greenlands Infants, Stanley, took me on a fantastic day out to The Eden Project, Bodelva, Cornwall. The Eden Project is about understanding our place in nature and thinking about our place in the cycle of life. It is an interesting place to visit, very bright and beautiful. Dominic and I had a wonderful time looking at the beautiful gardens and flowers. My favourite was this very large colourful flower and I just had to have my photo taken with it!

It's Cold on the Mountain Tops

Badger on Aeroplane Badger in the Alps
I love flying and had a very chilly experience on the way to the Alps in Italy. The wind was cold and icy but I felt safe and secure buckled up with my friend Thomas. When we arrived I had a great time watching Thomas and the other children ski. Here I am looking out over the Alps. It was a little bit cold but what beautiful mountains!

Step back in time!

Prince In Cairo Looking at the Pyramids
I really enjoyed my trip to ancient Egypt where I learned all about the Pyramids and Pharoahs. Look at this huge Pyramid, imagine all of its hidden treasures. It was extremely hot and sunny in Egypt. Don't I look cool with my shades on!

Fun in the Sun with Prince

Prince on Holiday in Cuba
Here I am relaxing at the pool on my well earned holiday to Cuba. It was hard work lying on the beach in the sunshine all day long!

The Beefeater

Prince and Brenda in London
I visited London with my friend Brenda and we met a Beefeater. Beefeaters work for the queen and guard the Tower of London. This one had time to have his photo taken with us.

Fairytale in Budapest

Prince in Budapest
This is the beautiful Buda Castle in Budapest which was very grand but very cold. I was glad of my thick fur coat! I thought it looked just like a castle from a fairytale, do you?

There’s no place like home!

Prince at Durham Castle
I visited the castle in my home town of Durham with my good friend Tom. It is very old and historical. There are lots of things to see. We had a brilliant day, why don’t you have a look around too!

Krakow Old Town, Poland.

Prince in Krakow old town
What a sunny day it was. It was an interesting place with lots of history and there are many museums to visit. There are also lots of restaurants and cafes to have a spot of lunch, mmmmm!

Rome

Prince in the Vatican
Rome was one of my favourite places to visit. It is very historical and there are lots of sights to see. I went to the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Here I am in the Vatican under the beautiful painted ceiling.
Prince in St. Peter's Square
This is St Peter’s Square. The big building behind me is St Peter’s Basilica where you can go to visit the Pope. It is a very busy place with beautiful buildings.
Prince in the Colosseum
Wow! The Colosseum! Where the real Gladiators used to have their battles. It is a very large place and it must have been very intimidating when it was full of people. I’m glad there weren’t any battles happening when I was there!

Aren't I lucky to have visited all of these wonderful places! I wonder where I'll go next.......

Some children have been keeping a diary for me. I hope you enjoy reading it.

The Diary of a Travelling Badger

‘My name is Prince and I’ve had a very busy and exciting year at Deaf Hill School. I've done marvellous things and been to distant places. Kieron and Faye took me to their home. Their dad played peek-a-boo with me, and Faye took me for a walk in a little pushchair. I played with Kieron on his farm – it was fun.’
By Angela Robson, Deaf Hill Primary School, Durham

Christmas treats
‘I spent last Christmas and New Year with Molly and Jason. Molly got a Barbie bike, Jason a Nintendo DS, and I got a lovely new diary to take back to school. On Boxing day we went to Nana Lawson’s for a huge party with 21people … I can't remember all their names, but everyone liked me. I’m never eating turkey or chocolate again.
Everyone was a little sad at Molly and Jason’s home as their dad was going to Iraq. He’s promised me a trip to his base when he comes home so I can see the tanks. I’m so looking forward to that!’

Easter trip
‘Easter … yeah … off to Las Vegas. One of the teachers took me on holiday. When I arrived I was too excited to sleep. We visited loads of exciting places – like the MGM Grand New York-New York Hotel … I ate cheesecake at Caesar’s Palace and a burger at the Harley Davidson Café. I watched the Bellagio fountains, went to the top
of the stratosphere, and rode in a limousine.’

Flying high
The highlight of my trip was a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. It was awesome!

The pilot let me have a go at flying … I think I may be a pilot when I retire from Deaf Hill School. I found a little time to chill out and sunbathe before the long flight home to start a new term. The Grand Canyon was as you may imagine - grand!

New experiences
I get to go home with some of the children.
I went home with Hannah and Charlotte for the first time as their mum has joined our Share group. We had lots of fun when we went to the beach looking for pebbles. I rode Charlotte’s motorbike … it went very fast but I was not scared. We also went to visit a horse called Polo. Hannah had a ride and then Charlotte took me to gymnastics. She was really good – I had a lovely time.

Josh and Reece have started our school after living in Spain. Josh really loves me and always has a great big smile for me. Oh my …their hamster got out of his cage! I was a bit scared in case he tried to eat me. Everyone was chasing him – phew, they caught him and he’s back in his cage. What a visit…

I've been going to Neil’s home for a long time now. He has a special Share box full of good things to do – every home should have a Share box.

Molly and Jason’s dad arrived home and kept his promise of a visit to see the tanks and big trucks. Can you find me? The tank is big and I'm only a little badger.

Prince - Catterick
What a day. I had lots of photos taken. ‘I hope other badgers have had exciting adventures like mine.’
