ShareShare in County Durham is a programme designed to reach parents who want to help their child at home but who aren't sure what's the best way of going about it.
Using the simple Sharebooks, parents can learn how to create and plan learning activities for their children that are fun for all and that they can enjoy at any time - after school, at weekends or in the holidays. It doesn't involve lots of specialist equipment or space - in fact, Share will help you and your child learn anywhere. Family Learning in County Durham is developing this section of our website for all those involved with Share - parents, children, tutors, teachers. If you would like to know more about Share please Family Learning in County Durham or at the Share website at www.shareuk.org.uk. Hello From Jeanna

The course is designed to improve the quality of family life by helping parents support their children. Talking to other parents in a Share Plus group can help make being a parent easier. The course aims to raise awareness about family issues and to enhance parent’s skills. The course is divided into 5 units: Unit A: Being a parent Unit B: Play, learning and getting on at school Unit C: Growing children Unit D: Health, safety and welfare Unit E: Support Parents and carers pick and mix among the activities to create their own programme for the group. The course is based on experimental learning. At the heart of the course is the opportunity to talk about experiences as a parent and provide mutual support. While the course offers ideas to try, it is up to participants to take from it what they find helpful. Being a parent is one of the most important jobs in the world. This course gives parents time to pause and think about what it means to be a parent. Top of Page |
