News & EventsFamily Learning Festival October 2009During October various Family Learning activities were held across County Durham to mark the Family Learning Festival 2009.The activities started at Clayport Library on Wednesday 21st October with Family Storytime and Family Crafts sessions. The Hermitage School was the venue for a Family Learning day on Monday 26th October with a Fire Brigade Demonstration, Police Display and Badge Making and a Basic First Aid session run by Heart Start. There were also Family Crafts, Family Fun through Football and a Cook & Eat session. On Tuesday 27th October the activities continued at Durham Community Business College again with the Police and Fire Brigade in attendance all day and a Heart Start Basic First Aid session in the morning. The afternoon included a Cook & Eat session, Who Do You Think You Are? in the online centre, and Family Crafts in the main Hall. St. Patrick’s Primary in Consett held a ‘What’s the Story?’ day on Friday 30th October. Learners made their own story book with illustrations with the help and advice of professional artist, Sarah Allen. All activities during the Family Learning Festival were provided free of charge.
